Welcome to the ultimate guide to Sunset Island.
As we all know, Sunset Island is a great way to get extra diamonds for RH players, especially for ones who don't have any multipliers (such as myself!).
In this post, I am going to be summing up everything I have learned in Sunset Island. I might even make a Youtube video about it (but that takes a LOT of time so I have no idea if I am actually going to be doing that).
So, let's get started!
TOPIC #1: OUTFITS
So, there are many themes in pageants, and I think the devs made that so for Sunset Island to be more interactive and interesting. However, sometimes the themes are really specific, and you might not have clothes or items that goes with it. For example, let's say the theme is Halloween. You might not have Halloween items. So, when this happens, just try to wear colors that match with the theme. So for the Halloween theme I might just wear orange and black tones. Of course, this outfit will not win the Nobel Prize and might not look half as good as another outfit with Halloween items. But still, it's better wearing a random outfit that doesn't follow the theme.
Now, I need to say something about accessories. I've seen people put on WAY too many items and accessories at a time. That's not good! The more items you put on, the more cluttered your look gets. So, for your own and other's safety, just put on at most 4 items on.
When there is a theme that only says a color (for example "Playful Purple") wear your most expensive items. This is because most people vote for rich players, or players with legacy items on. The reason why I'm not encouraging you to wear expensive items for themes like "Christmas" or "Choose an Age: 0-100" is because not ALL expensive items are good for those themes. For example, if I were dressing up as a elder, would I really put on the Large Train Bow Skirt? Have you ever seen an elder wear a big poofy dress with lace on it? No! So that's why you should only wear expensive items for specific themes.
TOPIC #2: YOUR ATTITUDE
Ok, so most people probably already know this, but be kind during the pageants. Don't go too far (like complimenting everyone's outfits including the mean girls') and don't be too subtle (like only saying "good luck!" once). Try to only compliment 1-3 outfits. Compliment outfits you GENUINING LIKE!!! It is really hard to think of a compliment for an outfit you don't like. I've noticed most servers these days don't have that many nice people now, so just keep note of that.
Also, if you are naturally kind, then this will be a piece of cake. If you just aren't naturally nice, then try to be funny. Being funny will get you extra votes, not only because you will be fun to be around, but just because funny people are more likeable.
TOPIC #3: OTHER PEOPLE
So, there are three types of Sunset Island servers in the world:
The server where everyone is really quiet. For this type of server, I actually recommend to be rather quiet too. Of course, still be kind and all, but just don't be all goody-two-shoes and super caring and stuff. Some people will probably just think you are plain annoying.
The server where everyone is really kind and talkative! This is the best server. In this server, be kind and funny as well. Try to make friends with everyone. These servers are really rare now, but there are still some of these servers.
The server where there is a mean bully. Just. Leave. The. Server. Nothing good is going to come out of this server, so just leave.
TOPIC #4: VOTING
Ok, most people just don't vote for anyone because they are selfish. But that's not a good idea. If you don't vote, your votes get distributed randomly. So one of your votes might go to someone who you didn't want to vote for in the first place! So vote the outfits you GENUINLY like, or vote for your friend's outfit. But whatever you do... VOTE! You also get diamonds!
Also some people wonder why people who are afk, mean girls, or just people who don't follow the theme get 1st prize. Well I think it's because that people want the diamonds when you vote, but don't want to vote for people who might win because of their super good outfit. So that's why they vote for afk players, mean girls, and people who don't follow the theme. Unfortunately, almost everyone has this idea.
