Michael “Mike” Preston Everett, 85, of Mountain View died July 22 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo. Born in Mooney Creek, Kan., he was a U.S. Navy retiree and Vietnam War veteran, employee of the former Burns International Security and Molokai General Hospital and member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3830 and Big Island Coin Club. Visitation 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Casual attire. Survived by wife, Ivonne Tengan Everett of Mountain View; sons, Paul (Raimee) Everett of Mountain View, Kimo Everett of Indianola, Iowa, and Keith Everett of Mountain View; daughter, Trudi (Kyle Toma) Everett of Hilo; sister, Candace “Candy” (Donald) Winterscheidt of Aurora, Colo.; brothers, Patrick (Helen) Everett Sr. of Centennial, Colo., Gary (Marilyn Michales) Everett of Naples, Fla., and Jack “Butch” Everett of Sugar Lake, Mo.; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
